I HAVE AN AGENT!

I figured there’s no better way to kick off having a blog (and a shiny new website) than posting the best news I’ve had in a long time! It’s been quite the journey in the querying trenches (two books, three years, and a wild amount of tears) but it’s all led me to this post: I HAVE AN AGENT!

Technically, I have two.

As of Friday, May 10th, I have accepted an offer of representation from Claire Friedman and Jessica Mileo of InkWell Management. Claire and Jessica are absolutely a dream-team; their vision for THE DEAD AND THE DARK is so completely on track with mine. I’ve been asking friends all week to pinch me after the offer phone call. It’s so incredibly encouraging to hear people tell you they believe in your book’s strange, spooky, queer heart as much as you do. I truly believe that Ashley and Logan are in the perfect hands at InkWell.

I want to thank Beth Phelan and the #DVPit pitch contest on Twitter for helping me connect with Claire and Jessica. #DVPit is a wonderful space that gives a platform to voices that sometimes get swallowed up in fight for traditional publication. Thank you, Beth, for caring so deeply about this community and the voices that help shape it.

And thank you to everyone who’s followed my writing journey to this point. I want to tell you all to stay tuned - Ashley and Logan are on their way!
